Hotel Grand Hotel Europe (f. Belmond Grand Hotel Europe)

The Grand Hotel Europe, opened in 1875, is the oldest luxury hotel in St. Petersburg, located in the very heart of the city, at the corner of Nevsky Prospekt and Mikhailovskaya Street. Throughout its long history, the hotel has received guests from all over the world. Here Emperor Nicholas II honored the Prince of Siam, P.I. Tchaikovsky, gave a concert by Sir Elton John and sang Whitney Houston. Designed by the architect Ludwig Fontana, the hotel is a listed building with a lush neo-Baroque façade. The famous stained glass panel "Apollo in a Chariot", stained glass ceiling, graceful wood carvings in the Art Nouveau style decorate the restaurant "Europe", designed by the architect Karl Mackensen and opened since 1905.

A spirit of elegance permeates the entire interior of the hotel, including ten unique historical suites and six avant-garde suites. In summer, the most popular rooms with terraces with a breathtaking view of the Russian Museum, the Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood and the Philharmonic.
