The name of the hotel is associated with the legendary Underwood typewriter, which Dovlatov used to write his works. The contour of his car can be seen in the sculptural composition located directly under the windows of the hotel. And in the hotel itself, guests are greeted by an antique version of the Underwood machine, which works, despite its venerable age.
