The institute of cultural programs and Committee on culture of St.-Petersburg has developed «the Calendar of events» for 2011. Traditionally more than 100 state and public organizations give information for a calendar.

Travelers can be interested in the Festival of ice sculptures which takes place annually in the Petropavlovskaya Fortress in February.

In the beginning of March «the Vigorous Pancake week» in Pavlovskyi Park will become an entertainment action. The big festival will be accompanied by participation of the dramatized characters, performance of choral and dancing folklore ensembles, fair of traditional national crafts, driving on sledge and, certainly, an entertainment pancakes with hot tea. On the first of April an annual festival of humour «Ridiculous festival» will be carried out. The action will take place on the scene of "Mimigrants" clown-mime-theater, and also on the squares and city streets.

In the middle of May the international action «Night of museums» will take place, when doors of leading museums of a city will be open for visitors all night long. A ceremony of the opening of fountains in Peterhof this year holds on the 21st May.

A festival «Gold two-Tauri» of forge art also represents an interest for tourists. The festival will be hold in the 30th of May and 1st of June. An «Imperial gardens of Russia» festival will be opened in the “Mikchailovskyi” Garden where «Italian midday» competition will take place, devoted to development of traditions of the Italian gardening in Russia.
