The joint seminar occurred on Friday the 5th of February 2011 and dealt with the topic of “Growth and Expansion of Sales of Hotel Services”.

The participants include the supervisors of hotels from various Russian cities: “Tiumen” (city of Tiumen), “Nika” (city of Omsk), “Meridian” (city of Murmansk), “Aviaotel” (city of Samara), “Art-Hotel” (city of Voronezh) and “Baikal Plaza” (city of Uland-Ude).

The following topics were discussed conference:

• • Collaboration of Academservice and hotels located in Russia, CIS, and Baltics, and the use of Best Eurasian Hotels marketing programs for the increasing of volume of hotel bookings.
• • The use of electronic reservation systems as a way to increase the volume of bookings: GDS, Amadeus/System One, Galileo/Apollo, Sabre/Fantasia/Axess/Abacus и Worldspan and IDS also known as ADS, and online booking through the Booking Engine technology on the hotel sites.
• • The potential management of hotel sales through the Academservice network: the presence of the hotel on the Academservice website www.acase.ru, and various factors the client considers when rating the attractiveness of one hotel over another.

These types of seminars are useful from an educational standpoint and helpful discussion of questions and concerns regarding the tourism and hotel industries.
