 The “Petergof” State Museum-estate in St. Peterburg has been opened this season before its due time. On April 23 2016 fountains started working including the well-known “Neptun” fountain which had been reconstructed. It was his first reconstruction since 1799. The “Neptun” fountain ensemble includes more than 30 figures and decorated details (dolphins, sea dragons, nymphs, babies and tooting shells). Restorers cleaned up all surfaces from oxides and mud, repaired tears and cracks and also they renewed lost figures of two-headed eagles on the “Emblem shield” and small details on such sculptures as “Nymph with oar”, “Horseman on hippocampus”, “Child on a dolphin”.
