 Tambov received a title of Russian New Year Capital in 2017. Tambov wolf became a symbol of the event. The Organizing Committee approved the official logo. The logo looks like a medal with a ribbon of Russian flag. New Year wolf surrounded by snowflakes and icicles, smiles very friendly and invites tourist to the New Year Capital. The image of wolf will appear on posters, souvenirs and postcards. The New Year celebrations will start on 10 December. On this day, the World Father Frost Meeting will be opened and the biggest ring around the five-metre ice statue of wolf, in front of the Kristal sport complex will takes place. On 17 December, the Snow Maiden holiday will be held; on 24 December, New Year areas with shuttle buses between them will be opened. Holiday events will last until 8 December in Tambov.
