On 25-27 October 2017 the World Stroke Day Congress was held in Moscow. Over 1500 delegates and guests from the Russian Federation regions, members of the Presidium and All-Russian Society of Neurologists and the National Association of World Stroke, the representatives of republican, territorial and regional health authorities attended the Congress.

At the Congress were discussed the key issues in the field of cerebrovascular pathology and stroke, as well as related disciplines: modern technologies of treatment, epidemiology, diagnostics, rehabilitation and prevention. Special attention was paid to the results of the program of care for patients with vascular pathology in our country, the introduction of new invasive technologies and technologies of rehabilitation in clinical practice as well as organizational, pharmaco-economic and legal aspects of care for patients with cerebrovascular disease.

The Congress was attended by V. Skvortsova, Minister of Health of the Russian Federation, professor V. Khake (President of the World Stroke Organization, Germany), professor M. Brainin (Elected President of the World Stroke Organization, Austria), professor S. Davis (Honorary President of the World Stroke Organization, Australia), professor V. Grisold (Vice-President of the World Federation of Neurology, Austria), professor E. Perucca (Honorary President of the World League Against Epilepsy, Italy), professor V. Kazo (President of the European Stroke Organization, Italy), professor R. Sacco (President of the American Academy of Neurology, USA) and other leading professors from Australia, Austria, Britain, Germany, Israel, Italy, USA, France, Sweden, and more than a thousand specialists from all regions of Russia and CIS countries.
