For one evening the historical place in the centre of Moscow moved a hundred years back – into the beginning of the 20th century. Unique retro cars were set out at the entrance to the hotel’s restaurant: Mercedes 1956, Pobeda 1937, Chevrolet 1932. The restaurant itself housed a retro photo exhibition with images of old-time Moscow and collages from the Savoy collection. Gramophones of the 1920s – 1930s played music popular at that time. Women wore splendid old-style gowns and hats. Alexander’s House unique rare diamonds and Silver Fox fur collection were presented to the guests. To complete the evening the Chef offered a surprising menu containing dishes served in 1913 at the opening of the Savoy Hotel: royal sturgeon, pumpkin porridge in baskets made of pumpkins, and a palm of assorted fruits. Among the guests were Nikas Safronov, Elena Hanga, Nikolay Drozdov, Vladimir Vishnevsky, Sergey Shakurov, and others.
