Since June 1, 2014 in accordance with the Federal Law of the Russian Federation N 15-FZ "On protection of public health from tobacco smoke and the consequences of tobacco consumption" smoking is prohibited in many public places, including hotels and other accommodation facilities.

Since June 1, 2014 smoking ban applies:
- In facilities designed to provide housing services, hotel services and (or) providing temporary accommodation;
- in long-distance trains, on ships, when providing services on transportation of passengers;
- In facilities designed to provide trade services, catering (including restaurants), indoor markets in non-stationary trading facilities;
- On passenger platforms;

Also since 1 June, 2014 in Russia will act ban on tobacco smoking in a demonstration of TV programs, as well as restriction of trade of tobacco products.
