2011 year has officially been declared the year of Italy in Russia, and Grand Hotel Europe is also paying tribute to this beautiful country’s culinary heritage. The hotel invites guests to enjoy the delectable signature dishes of the Italian Orient-Express hotels at Rossi’s Restaurant. Make a mouthwatering gastronomic journey around the outstanding hotels, from the very first in the Orient-Express collection Venetian hotel Cipriani, and onwards to the Hotel Splendido in Portofino, Villa San Michele in Florence, Hotel Caruso on the Amalfi Coast just to mention four of the jewels in the Orient-Express Italian hotels portfolio.

During the month of June, diners can enjoy daily set menus created by our Italian Chef-de- Cuisine Giuseppe D’Agostino and Italian Executive Chef Marco Alban.

Strawberries, that beautiful seasonal summer specialty, are served at the Mezzanine Café of Grand Hotel Europe in a multitude of sweet options. The strawberry is one of the first fruits to appear on the summer table. Indulge yourself with divine strawberry treats at the Mezzanine café, from fresh appetizers to stunning desserts:

Truffle is a fruiting body of an underground mushroom and today it is a highly esteemed and sought after luxury gourmet product. However, the origin of this unusual fungus remained a mystery for a long time. Its form is so unique that medieval magicians and alchemists ascribed voodoo properties to it. The truffles attained true recognition during the reign of Louis XIV and have continued to this day.
